The Bug Pack???

Where was I when Morty and Hal showed up at the Groom's dinner? Does Buggy's blazer have an attracting quality? I can't believe I missed them!! Did they go for a 4-wheeler ride? Bowman, I bet it was a gas hangin' with those crazy cats! Do tell ...

Brent,

We just missed you. Had a gig over at the Edgewood. We put you all on the guest list, see ... Next time, eh? Keep the peanut wagon between the white lines and roll 'em easy!

It's quite obvious that I shoehorned myself into the action, hoping to pick up some cool.
But as many here could tell me, it don't work that way.
This is just before they dragged me behind the 4-wheeler wearing bowling ball earmuffs.
Nice fellas.

"hey! yoo tawhkin ta me?" Buggy? Yeah, I seen him 2 days after the wedding, trying on 'friggin ZootSuits', gettin' the slip on, yu'know- thinkn 'bout how he was gonna ride in next time, struttin' his stuff and right in front of the ol'lady, too! yeah, i know, him, sh**t, he hung with us guyz since he wuz maybe 12, no 14 years old! he's a good kid, a little showey, yu' know, but he's got his priorities right- he knows he's gotta claim whats his by puttin' the dame and kids first, then whatever kinda crazy cat sharkskin gettup he might find is his to claim as well, godammit! Hell, I got my first suit in a little hole-in-the-wall dress shop on the south side, in 1946...they had a rack of mens suits, complete with shirt, tie, cufflinks, the whole bit-i remember thinkin' all that was missin was the man. i saw him there, standing in that suit! Yep, and I still got the jacket, too. Don't ever forget the poor chump who made it so you could be wearin' that suit, yu'hear me?

Weird, maybe. But wonderful just the same. I'm sorry I missed Morty & Hal. But after what I said about them, Morty probably woulda punched me in the nose.

You're right, Guy—there's just no way to explain it to an outsider. I'm not sure I can take it all in myself. I do love this little community, though.

Not sure what's happening in Ft. Worth. I've been in Minneapolis all week. I fly home tomorrow. It's been in the 100s all week down there. VERY pleasant in Mpls., though.

I fly back to Mpls. on Monday for another week of work at Marshall Field's. I'm happy for the work but I miss my sweet Debbie Jean.

And we have plenty to do around our house, too. Especially if we're going to have guests.
