Still Life W/ Mattress and Freaks

MADISON SEPTEMBER 1989 (Freak Photo-Ops from Fatguy)

FATGUY

THE yet-to-be REVEREND BOYCE

BUGGY FALES

NAVIGATOR

A huge post, but well worth it. These were taken before an Erosion Theme Park event in the attic of some crazy college crash-house. Fatguy reminded me that there was a laser show, as well. Most of the clothing belonged to Boyce's uncle (who's name Boyce will share with us in the comments). A photo of Dave Hollister may be posted as well. He ain't got the internets, though ...

Notice the beautiful mattress w/ duct tape as back-drop. Milk crate prop is nice, as well. At first, I thought ol' Buggy had combination slacks/jeans ... but then realized that he's merely wearing shorts over jeans with blown-out knees. A great look, nonetheless ... Also digging fatguy's high-tops!

Yes, I remember this was a fun one, but I don't remember much. The high-tech laser-ooooooh! The suits-damn I wish I had that blue one, that was tight!
Boyce and I decided we should look sharp negotiating with the party-throwers, and were thrown into confusion when we arrived to find another suit-clad mystery man waiting in the living room. One of those great "wait, what?" moments.
Nothing beats hightops for that secure feeling of support!
Yeah, Uncle Whatshisname, right?

And somehow my pic is the biggest....well, it's all about the cropping, folks. If not for that, there'd be a lot more ugly mattress to look at....

Let me be the first one to say how freakin beautiful all of you are. Handsome, winsome lads.... ready to take the world by rock. The "set" is stellar ... genius. Hey Brent, let's "redecorate" the basement studio w/ this brilliant, lo-fi baffling, eh?

Hmmm, the revelation of the name Clayton makes me think "cousin" instead of "uncle", perhaps Boyce's 2nd cousin?
Rev? Lineage check on aisle one.

Ah, Traffic. One of my old faves. Did you guys do them justice with your cover?

The matress sound dampers are the shit. The suits are good, but I think Buggy wins for the shorts-over-kneeless-jeans ensemble.

I did actually run into Jaleel in San Fran a few years back. Of course Hassan knew him.
Yes, there were many loops that night, most involving Steve Winwood, I believe....
And the laser, the LASER!

Hey B, I was just perusing the letters in the Beacon & saw LoPresto sounding off again. Were you in last week's edition? If so, email me your letter--I'd love to see what set him off!
