Brent & Chuck: Piles on the Move

Piles are generally at rest. These are not only on wheels, but are being taken in opposite directions. Some law of physics may be applicable here.

Or..... it reminds me of those math word problems.... "If one man (X) is driving a pile to the west taking 17-inch strides and the other man (Y) is driving a pile to the east taking 21-inch strides but is moving at a more rapid rate, how much time will it take for them to dump their loads and return to the corner of the blue house given that X pile is larger than Y pile, that the wind is blowing easterly at 30mph and X has not had any lunch."

Math problems make my head hurt.

Our big project this weekend has been to tear out the carpet in our living room. We found some travertine tiles to replace the ugly, dirty, stained blue carpet that was there when we bought the house. Because the store where we bought the tiles is closing, we got them for about a third to half the cost of doing the room in carpet. Now I have a project to keep me busy and the living room will look stunning.

We realized when we measured the room that it's nearly half the square footage of our entire first house. That's the good news about Texas—housing is cheap per square foot. The bad news—it takes a long time to sell a house down here.

Happy Memorial Day!

That was a stealthy escape from answering the math problem, mister.

But the tile sounds tres rock. And a project is as good as knowing you have moved up in the world.... more square footage! And a pool to boot! You are stylin' now.

Today was our first day without some kind of rain in 3 weeks. Made headway on my garden. Kitty was in the city and Brent at the studio. It was a nice day home alone.

We'll be spending a quiet Memorial Day and I won't be cooking. Love that.

Men at work. It's a good thing.

W, our 1st house had a foundation size of just under 900 sq. ft. It did have a basement that was partially finished, giving us about 1300 ft. of living space. It is weird to consider that in our current house the living room is 20 x 24—half the size of the ground floor of our 1st house. I guess life goes on and we've come far.

And hey, I answered the triangle question. Let somebody else solve this math quiz.
